Gran Prix String Quartet

The "Grand Prix" original String Quartet was founded in 2006.
It comprises of  four  string  players:
Marina Vishnyakova - violin;
Yekaterina Andreeva –violin;
Oxana Vorosheva – viola;
Maria Olinenko - cello.

All the ladies have got a higher musical education at M.Glinka State Conservatory of city Nizhny Novgorod. The ladies play music of  popular classics - Mozart, Bach, Chopin and Tchaikovsky, Schubert and Strauss.

Sounding of famous melodies such as "Hungarian Dance" by Brahms  or "Wedding March" by Mendelssohn or many else wake up warm feelings in hearts of people even far removed from classical music.  Music of the films always create   vivid response - be it a tango from the movie "Scent woman" or the waltz from "Beware of the Car".  And of course, the decoration of any event is just a performance of beautiful music and popular tunes of different times - the tango "El Choklo" Italian song "O mio salt" and "Santa Lucia", a song by Frank Sinatra My way or group of Metallica "Nothing Else Matters ".

grandpri2 But contemporary arrangements of groups The Beatles and ABBA are the most popular and "Grand Prix" can proudly called them its own main feature.
In a string quartet performance either Can't be me love of Beatles  or Hard Day's Nigh ,Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen of ABBA sounds remarkably!
Till the "Grand Prix" there was no string quartet in Nizhny Novgorod and Russia in general who performed its own musical arrangements of these popular groups.
In 2010, the String Quartet "Grand Prix" has successfully presented his first album Tribute to ABBA.

Hot and passionate tangos are becoming another part of the "Grand Prix" musical sphere. Tango is a kind of  music that inspire thinking, feeling, causes a storm of emotions and includes the imagination!  Tango sounding  opens the innermost recesses of the soul!
"Dance of Fire" - a new CD of  "Grand Prix" - was created in 2011. Dance of Fire - it's incredible power! The force that can light the way for us in difficult times,  warm with gentle heat, grab a joyous whirlwind of emotions and melt the ice in our soul!  But in its unrestrained fire rush the dance can  injure, burn and carry away all that is so valuable for us. As each of us possess a fire in heart, every dance - has its individual spirit.  One is soft and tremulous, another rushing in confusion and jealousy. One filled with joy and delight, and other filled with a grieving, causing crying with him!  The presentation of this passion and dramatic album has got an incredible success.

Jazz improvisation is also a strong side of this extraordinary musical ensemble. Thus, in 2007 for the execution of the famous song «I Feel Good»  of James Brown String Quartet "Grand Prix" was awarded the  Diploma of First Regional Musical Festival and  has received a special award as "most unusual ensemble of festival.  "Grand Prix" is another pioneer in the musical direction of Nizhny Novgorod - a club show electric quartet." Four gorgeous ladies amazingly perform well-known classical music in modern processing, soundtracks from movies, songs of popular artists in own instrumental version. The show of musical masterpieces and the constant change of light-suits are great event.
The String Quartet, "Grand Prix" - is one of the few bands that can combine in itself all the facets of musical life, from the great classics to club shows and, most importantly, makes it of the highest quality.
